Please retype the login information or contact the disk administrator I am able to see my TC fully functional in Airport Utility for Windows and I am able to login and update the settings with the same password that I am using to mount the disk. Dear Technicalguy, Thank you for your detailed writeup. I have a specific query. I used briefcase facility in windows 7 and now freefilesync in windows 8. So any changes made in a file on my laptop updates the shared drive copy. Any changes made on the shared drive copy updates my laptop copy when sync is run.
I have been explained that time-capsule can be configured to be used as shared drive for windows environment, but no one has been able to confirm whether their is any workaround to sync select folders. Can you help or point where I can find this? There is no excuse for not backing up your computer now.
There are very affordable external USB hard drives available so you can backup everything you have for safe keeping. All pictures, music, videos, documents, finances, everything gone. You can get one online right now and have it direct shipped to you. The brand we most recommend now is Western Digital. Why not backup the virtual machine instead? I feel now like I made an investment mistake getting the time capsule for managing my wireless network at home. I got my wife an iPhone, and Ipad and a MacbookPro. Now all her devices are already connected to the internet and fully working while my PC is not connected and I dont know what else I should do to get my PC connected to the internet via the time capsule.

After many hours of trying connecting the TC, my dad decided to undo firewall during the time for installation the TC. In 5 min the installation was automatic complete with the laptop windows 7 home premium, i3, 4GB. Type in the password and click OK. No change, still no disk showing up in the Airport Disk Preferences window. Perhaps Apple Extreme doesn't really share well with Windows?
They should be. It gives the Airport Name and shows the disk being shared; however, there is still no way to actually connect to it from Windows. The only "system tray" icon available is the one I used to open "Airport Disk Preferences", and it provides absolutely no way to connect to anything. What a load of crap! Has anyone made any progress? Everything works, except that I cannot connect to the drive. I can see it in the Airport Utility, enable file sharing, tried the several options accounts - setup account, device or drive passwords to no avail. In the station agent I only see "Open Airport preferences", which once opened shows 2 checkboxes but no airport disks.
